About Me

I’m Alia — a fashion designer by training, a painter by heart.

 

Born in Pakistan, a land rich in textiles, tradition, and vibrant culture, I grew up surrounded by beauty in its most intricate forms. From an early age, I was drawn to the textures of fabric, the patterns, and the stories that live within surface design.

My creative journey began with brushstrokes on canvas, but it was my love for fabric and surface pattern that led me to transform art into something wearable. For me, fabric isn’t just a medium; it’s a canvas that moves, breathes, and becomes part of the person who wears it.

Now based in the UK, Silk and Strokes is where East meets West. It’s a fusion of heritage and modernity: hand-painted scarves / fabric that embrace contemporary style.

 

Each creation is thoughtfully designed, intentionally made, and entirely unique.

This is not fast fashion. This is slow, soulful fashion — a love letter to individuality, culture, and timeless pieces.
